Rickshaw fares for Mumbai

Two months back Mumbai's autorickshaw and taxi drivers went on a strike, demanding a steep increase in fares. While earlier the fare calculation was simple, after the new fare structure came in place, autorickshaw fare calculations became relatively complex.

I started http://rickfare.com on the day new fares came into effect after seeing the new complicated fare structure. Over time, friends pitched in for their cities and I added New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Pune and Navi Mumbai. Today Rickfare.com is accessed by thousands of commuters over a wide variety of mobile devices including iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, HTC and assorted Nokia handsets.

I'd like to thank Ashish Mehta, Atul Jha, Kartik Mistry and Kamaleshwar for helping out with auto fares of their cities

The fare of 1.8 and 18 are returning same result. Its actually needs 18.0 to get the proper result.

@Subhodip, That is intentional. After observing the logs and monitoring the behaviour, I noticed that the users read the fare like that (18 for 1.8 ).

Earlier it allowed decimals only and had a lot of repeat queries from people who entered whole numbers..

I stay at Amarnagar Mulund(W). Would like to travel to Bhandup Station (W) & Mulund Station (W). Is there a fatliicy for a bus pass of Mulund Stn.(W) to Bhanbdup Stn. (W)via Mulund Colony only (not LBS Marg) single route. Bus Nos. 408 pass through Amarnagar to Mulund Stn. & Bhandup Stn. )

One very usefull software. Great Idea! If it would be packaged as java application, a lot many people would want to install it for offline use on mobiles.
